Look Who Came to Live at the Farm!

Baby Chicks

October 18, 2020

When I was in the Egg Layer Chicken yard this Sunday morning, 2 peeping, fuzzy, yellow chicks were scampering about-newly born. One devoted hen had been setting on those eggs for 21 days!  I waited for the mother to claim and care for them.  When she didn't, I scooped them up and relocated them to a chick brooder.  What was MORE astonishing the next afternoon, 2 MORE chicks showed up!  These very newly hatched babies were brown striped.  All four can be held in one hand!  Mother Nature.
